Black Girl Beaten By Police Officer
Viral video shows a uniformed Dallas ISD officer picking up the Black girl and slamming her to the ground as other children cry out in shock.
12-year-old Black girl, Mariana Benton, got into a fight on school grounds at the Piedmont Global Academy School. After separating the fighting girls Dallas Independent School District police officer used brutal force towards Marianna. He violently threw the Black girl to the ground in front of other kids and allegedly pepper-sprayed her.
“Her clavicle is fractured,” Alma Valadez, the mother of 12-year-old told the journalists. “It makes me mad, angry. She’s 12 years old. She weighs 100 pounds. He should be fired,” Valadez said of the officer.
After the video went viral the school administration launched the investigation of the incident and reacted quite unexpectedly. Mariana was suspended and the officer got on administrative leave, his identity concealed as his behavior didn’t “represent the type of response we want our officers to display.” These people seem to mistake the predator for the victim, don’t they?
