The Legendary Purple Rain Star Prince Turned Down The Offer To Have A Hollywood Walk Of Fame Star

The recently deceased magnificent singer didn’t want to have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

According The Wrap, the recording megastar rejected the offer to have his own star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame twice.

The inquiries about Minneapolis favorite son have reached the producers of the Hollywood Walk of Fame, who on Friday confirmed in a Facebook post that indeed the legendary singer declined to have a star dedicated to him.

“We have been receiving many inquiries regarding the issue of Prince not having a Walk of Fame star,” The Hollywood Walk of Fame shared via Facebook. “Prince was approached on two occasions about the possibility of being nominated for a star and he stated that the timing was not right.”

There is no question about the influential and elusive artist’s choice not be entangled with Hollywood’s fame madness, given the industry’s prevalent diversity problems and racial discrimination.

Instead of succumbing to the meaningless lustrous life of fame and money, Prince who is described by many as “the secret philanthropist,” dedicated his life to the issues of the humanity – to those people who needed a voice and inspiration in America, especially in the African-American communities.
