Bank Of America Employee Loses Job After Racist Facebook Post
Atlanta Bank of America ex-clerk, Christine Mcmullen Lindgren, decided to step forward on Facebook using N-word and sending black people “back to Africa”.
A White Bank of America employee was fired after posting following hateful massage on her Facebook page saying:
“I hate Facebook for this reason you f——- n—— and yes if [you] can call each other that well I can too, F—— n—— go back to Africa get over your pity party. You created this hatred and your own kind that brought your great great grandparents over here and sold them. Do something with your lives and your children’s lives I’m sure you don’t work collect welfare and teach hatred your poor children all 5 of them you can’t afford because I pay for them.”
It stays unclear what caused this demonstration of rage but the post immediately faced criticism from internet users. A lot of people demanded Mcmullen Lindgren to be fired from her position. Some of the bank clients even considered closing their accounts.
On June 2 Bank Of America posted response on Twitter claiming, “We are aware of an unacceptable post on Facebook. The comments are reprehensible. We have terminated the employment of the individual.”
Lindgren later deleted her post.
In this case we want to appreciate people who didn’t stay indifferent and demanded for justice to be restored. Hatred can only be overcome when white people understand that they are not untouchable and that they have to face punishment for every offensive word and action.
