I’m Raising My Fist For I Have Been Quiet For Too Long

The BlackMattersUS articles have a strong effect on our readers. We are always happy to receive letters with your thoughts and ideas! Our reader, Garrison Ward Taylor, is only 16 but he understands a lot about the life of the Black community in the USA. His opinion is an interesting one. And most significantly, he is trying to make a change!

“We need leaders for our people to be organized as one. Our rallies, protests, and marches are for a sort of civil rights movement. We don’t need civil rights!! We need BLACK Rights. Our rallies and marches aren’t getting enough attention if we’re not completely organized. The media is allowing these marches and protests to be shown on television because they do not pose a serious threat.

If we want to overcome the white supremacy in America we have to hit them where it hurts. Their pockets; black people are spending too much of our hard earned money on white businesses. We are doing this because marketing is in our face 24/7 and we don’t know any better. To be strong as a whole unit we need all the help we can get. Choosing black businesses over white businesses will help. The whites will notice their businesses not earning money from us if we choose to use our businesses over theirs. Our people need to be educated on our true history, BLACK History. If we have leaders, strong, young Black leaders, and we form a trust for one another, of all shades of black. No more dark skin vs light skin, we all need to come together. Our leaders must stop black people on black people violence. If we want to be a threat, we need to be together. Everyone. Black business over white business, if you hit the whites in their money, you have their attention.
