Reporter Resigns After Racist Post. Calls Blacks Killed By Police “Thugs”

“The DNC parading the mothers of slain thugs around on their stage has me furious,” a Dallas weatherman posts on his Facebook page.

A Chief meteorologist, Bob Goosmann, who until now worked with KRLD had to bring his entire career to an abrupt end due to a careless racist statement he made. The former Chief meteorologist took to his Facebook page and expressed his irritation about the publicity gained by the Black men that were killed by police.

Goosmann’s unwarranted frustration came about when the Democrat National Convention made one more attempt to win the sympathy of the African-Americans and called on the “Mothers of the Movement” to take part in their rally.

On Wednesday, the reporter left the following post on his Facebook page,“As many of you have probably noticed, I’ve stayed away from politics on FB. The DNC parading the mothers of slain thugs around on their stage has me furious.”

This disrespectful text was greeted with mass displeasure as many rebuked Goosmann for his derogatory statement. He disclosed to Dallasnews.com that he had no intention to return to broadcasting.

In an attempt to apologise for his irresponsible action, he said, “To all reading this thread. Yes, I resigned, but would definitely have been fired, and rightly so. What I say online, no matter where reflects upon my station and employer. KRLD is a great station, providing invaluable information to all listeners, and I am sorry if they have had to deal with all the repercussions.”

He also tried to make excuses for the impact caused by his statement and noted, “As far as my post, it was never meant to denigrate the lives lost or the Moms that lost sons. I was angry that the DNC used these mothers to garner votes, and that was it. Some have said that it was a racial statement. If that is how anyone took the post, I am sorry that it has caused such trouble. I used the word thugs in my post, but I thought a thug was just a violent person. The definition of thug does not mention any race.”

As you can see from his speech, this man is not only a racist, but he is an also ignorant person. These were the grieving mothers of slain people! Black or white, violent or not, their sons didn’t deserve to be killed if we still believe in the power of American law. Calling them ‘thugs’ is not only showing the lack of respect but also demonstrating total absence of knowledge about their deaths. As for definitions, word ‘super-predators’ didn’t mention race before Hillary Clinton too. Words don’t hate – people do.
