Black Lives Matter Movie Night: Appreciating Culture Through Film

Source

Join Black Lives Matter Boise (Unofficial group) in conjunction with the Idaho Coallition Against Sexual & Domestic Violence for our very first movie night! We want to bring these movie nights to Boise to help highlight through film and history, the lives of black people in North America. Our intentions are to show films that show the full spectrum of experiences of black individuals and communities. Our first film will be Roots (2016 remake), the movie adaptation of Alex Haley’s book on the life of Kunta Kinte. We will be watching Part 1 on September 9th and continuing the minseries this Fall. Please bring your family and friends! If you have questions please contact Black Lives Matter Boise. If you would like to make a small donation towards Black Lives Matter Boise to help with food costs, there will be a donation jar inside, but this event is FREE to the public. We plan on providing some light refreshments and there is an opt-in discussion of Part 1 after.
