Black Granny Graduates After 55 Years Break

Tennessee State University applauds this Black granny who graduated at the age of 72.

This incredible Black granny of 4 first attended TSU back in 1962, however, she dropped out before completing her course after falling in love with her husband John and giving birth to two children.

In 2013 Mrs Mullins finally returned to her alma mater to complete what she once began and earn the degree she wanted so much. “I just knew I had to do it,” she says. Last week Darlene Mullins, was awarded a degree in interdisciplinary studies from Tennessee State University (TSU).

The achievements of this brilliant Black granny show how successful African-Americans can be if they really want to.
