Pepsi Ad Is Not Worth Seeing, But These Ones Are

3 companies which managed to tie their brands to social issues without offending anyone.

The recent Pepsi ad was on for quite a short period but its tactless tone-deaf nature hurt and shocked thousands. But there are companies in history which managed to use the images of Black people and the associations in a completely different way.

This Cadillac commercial sends the message of hope and unity. Most Black folks are not interested in buying these cars but the makes them think.

‘Old Navy’ is famous for featuring interracial couples in their ads and even one of their tweets caused backlash the company stepped forward with a message of love saying “We are a brand with a proud history of championing diversity and inclusion. At Old Navy, everyone is welcome.”

OneUnited bank once decided to create an ad “to be public with who we are…to be unapologetic.” And they managed!

It’s always important to respect any image and any idea you decide to use in your ad. It’s sad most whites have forgotten about it.
