“She said that if ‘Black Lives Matter’ were on my card, it might offend people,” Rachel Nash complains.
Baltimore city school teacher, Nash, who is white wanted to personalise her Wells Fargo bank card with something she considered meaningful.
An email Nash received Thursday morning told her that the design offered by her was rejected, and the customer service agent explained to her that it was because of the words, “Black Lives Matter.”
A Wells Fargo representative claimed Nash’s image didn’t meet their requirements because company policy “prohibits political and trademarked or copyrighted images.”
Shame on Wells Fargo! They completely misunderstand the whole idea of the movement and prevent their customers from openly expressing their support of Black Lives Matter.
