“… take that uniform off and put a KKK hoodie…”, black cop says after watching a disturbing video of police fatal shooting of Alton Sterling.
A black Ohio female cop, Nakia Jones, is outraged over the fatal shooting of Alton Sterling, a 37-year-old African-American father of five beautiful children, at a Louisiana convenience store Tuesday, July 5.
Jones, after watching the shooting video several times, responded in a 7minute video posted on Facebook, saying, “If you are that officer that’s prejudice, take that uniform off and put a KKK hoodie on because I will not stand for that.”
Officer Jones explained in her video what it feels like to be a mother of two African-American children, or having African-American relatives and also being a cop at the same time. Jones said, as a cop, she took an oath to protect the people she serves, her community and those marginalized. But what happened Tuesday afternoon is inhuman.
“If you are white and you work in a Black community and you are racist, you need to be ashamed of yourself,” Jones said.
The task force is not a monolith structure. It consists of different people with different opinions. Jones proves that Black communities can only trust Black police officers who understand the struggle they go through since white officers have decided to wage war on Black America.
