Your Voices: No Homework!

As we stated education is the key part for our youth, but what is homework for black kids.

Take it from a parent with a M.Ed., grossly underemployed and reside in a community where 99.9% of our residents are African American, have “earned” a high school diploma but seemingly CAN’T GET OUR OF POVERTY:

WE CAN GIVE LESS THAN A DAMN about your strict uniform policies

WE CAN GIVE LESS THAN A DAMN about your “computer classes”

WE CAN GIVE LESS THAN A DAMN about meaningless assignments in this day and time of technological advances and opportunities

WE CAN GIVE LESS THAN A DAMN about your assignments that are “heavily weighted” when we don’t have necessities (FOOD, WATER, HEALTHCARE, SAFE COMMUNITIES, RESOURCES AND OPPORTUNITIES)

WE CAN GIVE LESS THAN A DAMN about your “job” that you MUST hold on to because of our children

WE CAN GIVE LESS THAN A DAMN about you showing up

WE CAN GIVE LESS THAN A DAMN about what you say but refuse to advocate and put your lives on the line to cause REAL change

WE CAN GIVE LESS THAN A DAMN about your behavior policies

WE CAN GIVE LESS THAN A DAMN about a teacher’s classroom.

WE GIVE LESS THAN A DAMN about a teacher decor.

WE GIVE LESS THAN A DAMN about your expensive furniture.

WE GIVE LESS THAN A DAMN about your cute behavior trinkets.

WE GIVE LESS THAN A DAMN about you overloading them and inundating them with pages and pages and pages and pages of homework.

WE CAN GIVE LESS THAN A DAMN because YOU (influential WHITE WOMEN AND MEN) legislated these laws that came into our homes and stripped us of our way of disciplining, directing and rearing them so what do you want from us?

Homework is no longer a tool to “measure” or “assess” OUR INNER CITY CHILDREN.”

WE DO DROP THEM OFF WITH THE HOPE, WISH, DESIRE AND DREAM OF ASSURING THAT THEY DO NOT BE THE NEXT GERATIONAL IMPOVERISHED

They too are technology driven and until we REVAMP this antiquated education and outdated curriculum and move to the 21st century THEN AND ONLY THEN can we move forward quickly.

JUST make sure our children are SELF SUFFICIENT AND NOT the next generation impoverished. #PlainAndSimple
