Birth Of Woman’s Nation

A powerfull message paying homage to the Women's March.

President Obama in his eloquent farewell speech held me accountable and passed the baton to WE THE PEOPLE, THIS IS THE STATE OF THE WOMEN!

Allow me to begin with this quote by Henry Ford, “Coming Together is a Beginning; Keeping Together is Progress; Working Together is Success.”

WOMEN HAVE BIRTHED A BETTER WORLD BECAUSE THEY THAT THEY WERE PREGNANT WITH RIGHTS, LIFE, FREEDOMS, JUSTICE AND DESERVING OF HUMANITY, INDIVIDUALITY, EQUALITY AND FULL CITIZENRY.

During pregnancy, there are a plethora of emotions, cravings, and feelings such as: shock, anticipation, anger, rage, resentment, fear, anxiety, unhappiness, embarrassment, gratitude along with thankfulness.  Each of us women who have given birth have experienced these in waves and stages but yet we STILL had to give birth, produce life.  Some of us birthed healthy full term babies, others premature babies and others sadly enough stillborn but yet we had to produce anyway.

I AM HERE BECAUSE WOMEN CHOSE TO KNOW THEIR PLACE AND THEIR PLACE WAS AT THE DECISION MAKING AND DISCUSSION TABLES.

WE HAVE COME A LONG WAY AS WOMEN IN AMERICA AND I BEING A WOMAN OF COLOR A MUCH LONGER WAY THAN MOST OF YOU.

THIS IS A MOVEMENT, A WOMEN’S MOVEMENT. A MOVEMENT IS WHERE WE REFUSE TO REMAIN STILL AS WE PUSH FORWARD, FOR A BETTER WORLD IN A COLLECTIVE AND UNIFIED MANNER.

A MOVEMENT IS WHEN WE COLLECTIVELY GO AGAINST THE WINDS AND WAVES.

A MOVEMENT OF THIS MAGNITUDE HAS ALWAYS HELD THAT WHICH IS WRITTEN ACCOUNTABLE AND RESPONSIBLE TO BE ALL INCLUSIVE

THIS MOVEMENT OF WOMEN…..

There is an anonymous quote that says, ” When you educated a man, you educated an individual but when you educated a woman, you educated nations.”

NO WONDER these past 8 years our FLOTUS focused on health, women, and girls!

ALL WOMEN SHOULD NOT ONLY SEE DEFICIENCES IN HER SISTERS BUT IN LOVE ADDRESS THEM INDIVIDUALLY, CULTURALLY AND ALSO COLLECTIVELY AS WOMEN, MOMS, CAREGIVERS, HUMAN BEINGS, THE BACKBONE OF THIS COUNTRY.

WOMEN ARE DEFIANT, DISRESPECTFUL, DISCERNING, DOMINANT, INCUBATORS,  CULTIVATORS, MENDERS, AND WAY MAKERS.

I TELL SOMEONE DEAR TO ME ALL OF THE TIME, GIVE YOURSELF PERMISSION TO SCREAM YOUR PRAISE, SAY YOUR ATTAGIRLS, ACKNOWLEDGE ALL YOU DO IN A TWENTY-FOUR HOUR PERIOD.

WITHOUT WOMEN, THERE IS NO LIFE!

ALLOW THIS MOVEMENT TO BRING US CLOSER

ALLOW THIS MOVEMENT O BEGIN AN ALL INCLUSIVE JOURNEY

ALLOW THIS MOVEMENT TO BE A JOURNEY THAT WE TURN AMERICA UPSIDE RIGHT

ALLOW THIS MOVEMENT TO BE THE START OF UNDERSTANDING

HEAD COVERINGS WILL BE SEEN AS ONE’S RELIGION BEING HONORED

ALLOW THIS MOVEMENT TO BE THE DEFINING MOMENT OUR JOURNEY WILL BEGIN.

TRAVEL THROUGH YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD

UNDERSTAND THE WHY PEOPLE DO, SAY ANS WEAR

GET BACK TO THE VILLAGE

WHAT COMES AUTOMATIC FOR YOU, SHOULD BE AUTOMATIC FOR ALL

TOGETHER, WE CAN MAKE IT HAPPEN BECAUSE I STAND ON THE SIDE OF LOVE AND LOVE TRUMPS HATE, LOVE WILL NOT BUILD WALLS, LOVE ERADICATES BRIDGES AND PROVIDE BEAUTIFICATION FOR ALL WOMEN ON THIS GURNEY TO START BIRTHING NATIONS!

We are in our individual stages in this PREGNANCY but this outward show of squeezing in the MATERNITY WARD is proof that WE THE WOMEN OF ST. LOUIS AND THE ST. LOUIS REGION is indeed looking forward to the DOULA/EXPECTANT relationships!

Women, our goal is not to just exist but coexist, intertwine and become interconnected without people shedding their culture, language, and customs. Our goal is that all can abundantly live, our goal is to give life where life is fruitless, unproductive,  infertile, sterile, barren and desolate.

Women choose to love the same sex, why hate?

Women of Color come in various hues, and features, why not appreciate the color wheel of those sunkissed?

Women have different abilities and not a disability, why not celebrate their womanhood and uniqueness?

Women are transgendered, why not get to know them? I promise you will love them too
Women are ill
Women are healthy

We WOMEN all have one thing in common in this space on THIS DAY, WE CHOOSE TO TAKE THE REINS, PENS, AND BRUSH and REDIRECT, WRITE, ERASE, ILLUSTRATE OUR AUTHENTIC narratives.

As I close, I end with this chant by Assata Shakur….

“IT IS OUR DUTY TO FIGHT FOR OUR FREEDOM. IT IS OUR DUTY TO WIN.  WE MUST LOVE EACH OTHER AND SUPPORT EACH OTHER.  WE HAVE NOTHING TO LOSE BUT OUR CHAINS.”
