Join the Saint Louis Art Museum for our annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Freedom Celebration. This year’s theme is Reframing Black Citizenship: Civil Rights Images and Frozen Ideals.
Rebecca Wanzo, Associate Professor of Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at Washington University in St. Louis Arts & Sciences, will discuss the struggle for civil rights and the strategic use of visual representations to promote full citizenship rights for African Americans. The talk will feature images produced during the Civil Rights era.
Tickets are free, but seating is limited. Advance tickets recommended. Please note that an RSVP to this Facebook event will not secure a seat.
