Join your neighbors for a peaceful reading of the names of Black men and women killed in the US this year by police. None of these killings have taken place in Alameda; we perform this vigil once a quarter to remember those lives lost and to affirm Alameda’s commitment to the rights of Black people: for safety and justice and equality. Our Police have been invited to stand in solidarity. Everyone is welcome to this peaceful demonstration. Bring signs, candles, kids, friends, reverence, outrage, optimism, peaceful intention, respect for all people, and resolve as we come together and say that Alameda stands for Peace, Equality, and Justice for all.
