What would it take for your business to be eligible to bid on lucrative government and corporate contracts? How do you become part of the network that gets notified when opportunities open up? Local governments, developers and corporate buyers generally prefer and are often mandated to hire local but are limited to working with preapproved vendors only, i.e. those that are “certified” Learn the steps in the process of becoming a certified minority owned business and open the door to more opportunity for your business..

Workshop facilitator, Lamont Bransford-Young, started his small business, Fingersnaps Media Arts, in 2004 and has been certified as a minority, LGBT business since 2014. He has attended various workshops, conferences, and meetings on new and existing ways to leverage his certification. This will be an interactive workshop based on his first hand experience. By the end of the workshop you will have a clear roadmap for navigating the challenging process beginning with certification through to being awarded a contract with a government agency or Fortune 500 company. Fingersnaps Media Arts is a certified Black owned and operated multimedia micro business and BAOBOB member that provides dj services & entertainment, dj lessons, dj mixes, narration services, dj studio rental, audio transfer, artist development, audio storytelling, public address sound systems, and photography service.
