CALLING ALL BLACK WOMEN & FEMMES:
Join us on Sunday, February 26 as we dance at the White House. No speakers. No agenda. We’re just celebrating our community through dance. We’ll bring the speakers, you bring the dance moves.
Wear yellow if you have it (think Beyoncé a la Lemonade) and wear whatever if you don’t.
For non-Black women/femmes–this is a space for us. Please respect that. If you’re interested in supporting somehow, contact me via FB message. If you’ve been invited, the purpose was to call the event to your attention to share with Black women/femmes you know. 🙂
Black women and femmes have been leading this #resistance long before it was popular through our work as well as our very existence.
We’ve organized. We’ve led marches and protests. We’ve been beaten. We’ve been arrested. We’ve been killed. We’ve been exiled.
And now, we dance. We dance as resistance to this Administration. To oppressive political systems. To exploitative capitalism. To the violence of white supremacy. To heteropatriarchy. To transphobia. To inaccessibility. To poverty.
We dance. We celebrate ourselves. Our magic. Our strength. Our weaknesses. We dance to forget, we dance to remember, and we dance to honor.
