Community discussion on the state of affairs for Black women and girls in Philadelphia and the creation of a community action plan that addresses education, housing, state violence, and more.

*Featuring brief presentations by:
– Yvelisse Pelotte, Esq. – Staff Attorney at Education Law Center Her work focuses on school climate and equal school access issues, with particular attention to the disproportionate discipline and exclusion of Black girls.
– Whiquitta Tobar, Esq. – Zubrow Fellow in Children’s Law at Juvenile Law Center. Her work focuses on child welfare and juvenile justice.
– Rasheedah Phillips, Esq. – Managing Attorney at Community Legal Services of Philadelphia whose work focuses on eviction defense and preservation of safe, affordable, and healthy housing for low-income Philadelphians

* Screening and discussion of #SayHerName short documentary by The African American Policy Forum

* Creation of a community action plan for protecting and celebrating Black women and girls in our communities
