Black Web Fest 2017 is a festival where people the from African diaspora unite to discover online shorts, web series, new media, and web industry trends. With the entertainment industry moving to more streaming platforms, there’s a vast amount of influencers, vloggers, and media makers making content for online platforms such as YouTube and Vimeo. The festival connects these creatives and media makers with opportunities to showcase their creative work. During the festival attendees will be able to screen web series and films created by Black media makers. The festival will also feature informative panels with industry professionals, media makers, and actors.
The themes for Black Web Fest 2017 are discovery, education, and technology. At our in-person event we have a full day of events that embody the core themes of Black Web Fest. During the first half of the day we will screen short films, documentaries, and web series by burgeoning and seasoned media makers. After a cocktail hour we will have educational panels with industry experts and celebrities.
