JOIN US FOR THIS “BLACK MINDS MATTER” CAMPAIGN KICKOFF
Join students, educators and fellow community members to examine local educational disparities in access, opportunity, and achievement – and what can be done to ensure a strong accountability system for improving student success.
Why does it matter?
BECAUSE LESS THAN ONE-THIRD OF BLACK STUDENTS IN CALIFORNIA COMPLETE THE A-G COURSES REQUIRED TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR A UC OR CSU
Based on The Ed Trust — West’s report we’ll gather to:
– Recap previous key notes from our two Community Impact meetings
– Take part in a data equity walk to dig deeper into the challenges faced by NHUSD’s Black students
– Debrief and talk solutions in small groups with NHUSD youth, families, educators, and community leaders
– Learn about what the new Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) means for our schools
CHILDCARE, FOOD & DRINK WILL BE PROVIDED – PLEASE RSVP TODAY! EVENTBRITE: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/black-minds-matter-tickets-28103708950
