Black Community Honors – Salute to the Panthers at 50


The Department of Pan-African Studies is proud to present the Third Annual Black Community Honors program — A Salute to the Panthers at 50. The program pays tribute to Black Panther alumni and those who do work in the Black radical tradition. Honorees include:
Mama TRUDY GOODWIN – Los Angeles Black Panter and member Black Lives Matter, Los Angeles
Baba HANK JONES – San Francisco Panther and member of the San Francisco 8
PETE WHITE – founder and Director of Los Angeles Community Action Network, Black Lives Matter, Los Angeles core team
Professor “PENNI” WILSON – PAS alumna “in the tradition” and professor of Pan-African Studies at Cal State LA

A soul food dinner, lovingly prepared by the Watts Coffee House will be served. This event is FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.
