Black Girl Magic: Gwen Jimmere Produces Natural Hair Products And Is The First To Get Patent Rights

She has followed the footsteps of Madam CJ Walker to keep her dream alive.

Talking about black achievements, Gwen Jimmere, has distinguished herself by not being just the CEO and Founder of Naturalicious, but “has become the first African American woman in history to own a U.S. patent on a product made with all-natural ingredients,” Black News reported.

As a diligent entrepreneur, she purposefully produced creams and hair products to satisfy the Black community after realizing the lack of good quality products.

The Walker Theatre invited her to a tour at Madam JC Walker’s headquarters and to specially congratulate her on making Walker proud. After the tour, she said “I already knew a lot about this great woman, but I learned so much more about her business acumen, how far into the future she planned for, and how she created self-sufficiency and career opportunities for over 30,000 other black women. She’s the epitome of the greatness I strive toward.”

She will celebrate this historic achievement in Detroit on April 17, 2016. Meanwhile, Nissan is sponsoring ‘The History Maker’ gala and “Jimmere is donating all proceeds from the Gala to benefit early STEM education for disadvantaged children in the inner city,” Black News reported.
