According to the private memo that was obtained by Gizmodo, Mark Zuckerberg mentioned that some of the company employees had been scratching out the “black lives matter” slogan and instead were writing “all lives matter” on the Facebook company’s signature wall.
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg asked his employees to stop the malicious behavior of crossing out “blacklivesmatter” slogans on the walls of the company’s private Memlo Park.
The Black Lives Matters movement on Facebook has elaborated on the racial inequality and police brutality among many other experiences by African American community across America.
Zuckerberg wrote to employees – “Despite my clear communication at Q&A last week that this was unacceptable, and messages from several other leaders from across the country, this has happened again.”
“I was already very disappointed by this disrespectful behavior before, but after my communication I now consider this malicious as well.”
Zuckerberg went further to state that, in as much as all lives matter, black lives matter as well and with these Black lives should be treated with the same respect and dignity as other lives.
He also said America’s recent past shows that black people are unfairly brutalized and killed in situations that other (namely white) people could walk away from unscathed.
Even though Blacks have just two percent of the total population of employees at Facebook, Zuckerberg said in a very loud and clear statement that all his employees, blacks inclusive, to share and benefit from this supportive community.
