A dreadful incident is forcing the Black family to move to an undisclosed address in a more diverse neighborhood.
Moving to Minnesota has turned into a nightmare for a Black family. On Sunday the returned home just to find their place burglarized and vandalized with racist graffiti.
The walls were covered with swastikas and words ‘Get out’ were spray painted in several places. The furniture was ruined, some items – stolen.
The members of the Douglas family also found a not containing a threat. “Next time, it’s going to be fire,” it said. The case is under investigation. A GoFundMe campaign to help cover the family’s expenses.
We deeply sympathise with the victims of this hate crime, we hope the racist burglars will be brought to justice. We wish the inhabitants of this neighbourhood understood that people drawing swastikas on the walls are a threat to the community of any color.
