The protest is caused by additional sanctions applied to the students of the Eastern Michigan University.
Eastern Michigan University’s office of Student Conduct and Community Standard has issued 16 additional student sanctions applied to the participants of November protest.
More than 100 students were carrying a large sign that read, “Eastern Michigan University’s president is a racist,” through the Student Center.
In the end of autumn there was one of several student organized protests that followed the four incidents of racist vandalism targeting the African-American community that occurred on EMU’s campus throughout last semester.
It’s a shame that president James Smith let the second protest in a row take place. The issue of racism is urgent and should be timely addressed unless of course, the words on the sign are true.
