Florida judge who was facing impeachment process for alleged racist and sexist comments has abruptly resigned.
Mark Hulsey III, the Duval Circuit Judge, was under investigation by the Judicial Qualifications Commissions after being accused of making inappropriate comments from the bench.
The judge allegedly said that Black people should “get back on a ship and go back to Africa.” Hulsey also accused of using taboo words and demeaning language toward female lawyers.
Internet users immediately disapproved of Hulsey’s behavior.
As a result of backlash or out of banal fear the judge hurried to resign.
We hope that resignation will let him escape the impeachment process but not the punishment. Hulsey’s behavior is not only a disgrace to his status as a judge but a verbal hate crime.
