Lying Woman Sent To Jail For Making False Report Of Felony

Authorities sent the lying woman to jail for a year after she falsely accused 4 Black men of abducting and raping her.

The Root reported that: A Michigan woman who said four black men kidnapped, raped and beat her for two days will spend a year behind bars for making the incident up, according to MLive.com.

Leiha Ann-Sue Artman, 25, pleaded guilty to making a false report of a felony, a crime punishable by up to four years. MLive reports that even though Artman has a considerable rap sheet, the judge did not send her to prison, so she will do her year in the county jail.

The Grio mentioned that: Leiha Artman said that she had been abducted by the men after they stopped to ask her for directions, and she claimed that they threw her in their trunk and beat her in addition to sexually assaulting her.

During the two days that she was missing, her boyfriend received pictures that appeared to show her being held captive, including one image that showed her gagged and seeming to bleed from the head.

The Inquisitr gave the following information about the incident: This bizarre case began around March 27, when she randomly sent her boyfriend a text telling him that she had been kidnapped. In what appeared to be a panic, Artman reportedly sent the man photos of herself bound and gagged with what appeared to be head injuries. She told the man she had been held captive for two days, and that her captors were demanding a ransom.

Before her boyfriend could come up with the ransom money, the Michigan woman got back in contact with him with — at the time — was amazing news. The four black men who had kidnapped her had charitably taken her back home and let her go without collecting any of the ransom that they had demanded. Like any caring person would do, the boyfriend of the apparent victim took her to a hospital, where she was interviewed by police. That’s where her story began to fall apart.

Police say that Leiha Artman first claimed that she had been kidnapped by four black men, who tortured and gang-raped her for at least two days. However, her story later changed — and she admitted that she had made the entire story up. However, the lying woman has never offered a motive for why she faked such a horrifying ordeal.

The Grio further stated that: Although Artman admitted to making up the story about the four black men, her partner maintained that she really had been raped and beaten but gave the false report because she was afraid of retaliation from her real attacker.

All I know is that I woke up to some very, very brutal pictures,” he said. “She did make up a story saying it was four black men but, at the end of the day, she did get really, really hurt by someone. She is a good woman and a good mother. She was a heroin addict that needed help and rehab.”

Artman called him two days after her alleged kidnapping and told him that her captor had dropped her off. He then picked her up and took her to the hospital.

The Inquisitr gave a lowdown on other cases of false accusations of kidnapping and other incidents: This isn’t the first time someone has faked a kidnapping or some other traumatic incident. Just a few days ago, it was reported that a Texas man faked his kidnapping because he was too scared to tell his wife that he wanted to go hang out with his friends. Newser reports that Rogelio Andaverde was taken from his home by two masked men, only to resurface two days later. Come to find out, the whole situation was orchestrated so he could get out of the house. He, like Leiha Artman, was charged with filing a false police report.

Earlier this year, a Florida woman allegedly faked her own kidnapping in order to hide her behavior from her husband. New York Daily News reports that 32-year-old Karla Vasquez faked her kidnapping so her husband wouldn’t find out that she was spending time with another man. Too bad her plan backfired because not only was she arrested for filing a false report, but her husband was totally aware of what she had been up to.

Also this year, a Florida woman allegedly faked her own kidnapping for a truly bizarre reason. Her Campus reports that Janet Elena Brooks claimed that she was abducted at gunpoint in order to get her boyfriend’s attention. Like many other folks who fake their own kidnappings, the Florida woman was charged with filing a false police report.

As for this latest bizarre case, Leiha Artman is facing justice for her actions. The lying woman has been sentenced to a year of imprisonment for lying about being kidnapped, raped and tortured. Meanwhile, she still hasn’t revealed what compelled her to hoax such a seriously traumatic incident. No reports are sharing whether or not she is still with the boyfriend she had tried to swindle for ransom money.

The Grio added: Artman is the not the first white person to falsely accuse black men of some heinous harm or crime and turned out to be lying. From Susan Smith and Charles Stuart to the Emmett Till and Scottsboro Boys cases, this country’s history is littered with these notorious and fabricated situations, sometimes leading to death for the falsely accused.

In addition to jail, Artman will be placed on probation for two years and pay a fine of $1,158.

It’s still unclear as to why this lying woman made up a nasty story of being kidnapped, beaten and raped by four Black men. maybe because of her racist stereotypes she decided that the presence of black rapists will make her story more frightening. The biggest problem is that if she hadn’t come clean that she hoaxed such a seriously disturbing incident, some innocent Black men could have been framed and put in jail for a long time as it has happened previously. It is said that that there is no possibility to sue her for slander on behalf all African-Americans.
