"Today I became the first Black woman in the world to be awarded with a Masters in Psychology for Fashion. I have always and will always fight for the inclusion and positive representation of Black and minority ethnic women worldwide”, Shakaila Forbes-Bell.

We pride ourselves as one of our own has been awarded masters in the field of psychology for fashion. The Black beauty shared the news via her Instagram page (@poppyshock). She posted her beautiful picture after graduating with the statement that;"Today I became the first Black woman in the world to be awarded with a Masters in Psychology for Fashion”.

She continued and said “I have always and will always fight for the inclusion and positive representation of Black and minority ethnic women worldwide. It is pivotal that the marks we leave on this world are visible for all to see so that future generations of little black girls know that their achievements are boundless". Yes, that’s our newest Black heroine in town.

The fashion psychologist further bemoaned that "From incidents as severe as Black men and women being executed at home and abroad to something as pathetic as being told that your skin is too dark for a makeup brand (that actually happened to me last week, shout out @Clinique) we face many challenges as a community. With this small step and the many steps, I hope to take in the future I hope to further the narrative of black girls being powerful, beautiful, and intelligent and of course.

Research reveals that Black students are less likely to be admitted to special programs for talented students, even if they have equally high academic performance as Whites. Such inhuman racial instances creates a void in the system, in which more disadvantaged enthusiastic and hard working children of color break the shackles of not being white.

Shakaila Forbes-Bell is a Black-shackle breaker and BM congratulates her on such an awesome achievement despite the hustle and tussle of being a Black woman in such a demanding field.

"We didn't do anything wrong besides be black with cornrows."

A Black Oregon family was racially profiled at a Dave & Buster's restaurant in Happy Valley Saturday, July 23 after a young woman misplaced her purse and lost some money from it.

Being the Only Black family at the place, as Rachel Batiste-Barber explained in a Facebook post, they were racially profiled and embarrassed. Rachel said that she and her family went to the Happy Valley Dave & Buster's after she received a $20 gameplay coupon.

While they were at the restaurant and playing games, a 16-year-old girl’s purse got missing but was quickly turned in at the front desk. Unfortunately, $16 claimed to have been in the purse were gone. When the teen asked about the missing money, the people at the desk told her that the person, who submitted the purse to them was "a black guy with cornrows," and promised to look for the man.

Batiste-Barber explained that her husband being the only Black man in the bar was singled out and accused of stealing the money right in front of their kids.

"I refrained from cussing the young lady and her mother out in the family establishment and, instead, decided to go to the front desk and speak with the woman who sent them on a witch hunt to find a man who's (sic) description my husband 'fit,'," she wrote.

Law enforcement officers soon arrived at the scene and Black the family was questioned and relieved.

The family went to the restaurant to have fun, but it turned out to be an embarrassment for them. They were accused with no reason, just because a White woman pointed a finger at them; even after one of the employees of the restaurant had said the father of the family didn’t fit the description of the man with the purse they were questioned by police as criminals; all requests to check surveillance camera records were declined.

The owners of the place apologized to them, but what apologies can help when the father was humiliated in front of his children? What can protect these children from shock, when their parents obey ridiculous orders and cannot say anything against them? Why? Because someone may get frightened for his life and we all know what happens next.

Virginia police officer, who killed William Chapman will stand trial this week. His defense team is struggling to ‘sanitize the evidence’.

After all officers involved in the death of Freddie Gray were cleared of charges there is a big chance for each killer cop to go scot-free.

James Broccoletti, the head of the defense team for Stephen Rankin, who is facing charges of first-degree murder and using a firearm in the commission of a felony for fatally shooting William Chapman, is doing his best to provide the mentioned opportunity to his client.

After shooting dead an unarmed 18-year-old Black man in cold blood, the Virginia officer was cruel enough to say “this is my second one” to an employee of Walmart where the incident took place. This gloomy remark occasionally recorded by Rankin’s taser camera referred to a four-year-old case when he killed one more unarmed man .

In far 2011 Rankin shot a 26-year-old hotel cook from Kazakhstan named Kirill Denyakin. The young man was got 11 bullets, but no charges were ever brought against Rankin because he testified Denyakin was approaching him while reaching into his waistband.

At the moment Rankin denies all charges and claims he was shooting in self-defense. At the same time, his lawyers are desperately trying to remove the taser camera record from the case together with the information that his taser was still present at the scene.

“This statement is not probative of anything,” Broccoletti said about the piece of evidence where his client admits using deadly force unarmed people before. “It is clearly relevant to the defense’s case, in terms of ‘did he have access to the Taser?’” he added.

Luckily, Broccoletti's requests together and other claims form Rankins lawyers, like delaying and moving the trial or depriving the jury of their electronic gadgets, were declined by judge Johnny E Morrison.

Though it is good that there are still judges, who are not ready to let criminal officers go, Rankin still has a chance to escape justice, as his defenders got access to Chapman’s juvenile criminal records. These have no relation to the case as the Black teen has never met his killer before and Rankin could not make any split-second conclusions concerning his intentions.

The the volume of violence hasn't changed - the technology has just made it easier to capture the horrifying moments.

Police violence against African-Americans people has never been that intense before now when we are constantly seeing innocent Black men and women being murdered.

Though maybe before the advancement of mobile technology no one was eager to believe stories from a Black man. White people didn’t want to admit that it was the local sheriff, who engineered the nightly lynching raids of the Ku Klux Klan or provided explosives to destroy Black schools, shops, and churches. When Blacks disappeared immediately after being stopped by police, nobody would think about their brutality.

Police use of excessive force against citizens is vividly brought to light today with the help of body cameras and mobile phones. Videos taken during incidents show that the officers need no reason for stopping and frisking not to mention beating, arresting, or murdering. Still, it looks like the police have found a way to go scot-free even if there is clear evidence.

Video and audio recordings of police shootings often mysteriously disappear or turn out to be partial, cops give excuses that they either feared for their lives or made a split-second decision because the suspect was a threat to them.

Body-cameras won't help - we will only see what happens, and it will continue to get worse if no action is taken. The President and his White cabinet cannot find solutions to these problems, that is why Black people should start looking for those themselves.

At first, they should stand out together and protect try their lives the way they can as cameras do not protect from killers.

Over 400 years ago Black people became slaves and some are still slaves, even with the 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution in force since 1868.

Since the day when the Secretary of State William Seward gave a proclamation attesting the ratification of the 14th Amendment, it has always been a struggle for descendants of slaves to be accepted in the society as free men, all because of the indestructible force of White supremacy that exists.

Professor Darren Hutchinson of the University of Florida explains that “White racism has been a culprit”.

“The granting of citizenship was always fragile for blacks,” Hutchinson told News report. He further explained that “the Black Codes gave rise to the amendment, but it could not prevent violence and general white supremacy. Only the federal troops proved effective at doing this. Once Reconstruction ended, the Amendments became aspirational more than anything else for more Black people.”

White supremacists granted slaves citizenship not to let them have equal rights with other citizens, but to use them for their own interest.

Malcolm X said, “If they were citizens, you wouldn’t have a race problem. If the Emancipation Proclamation was authentic, you wouldn’t have a race problem. If the 13th, 14th and 15th Amendments to the Constitution were authentic, you wouldn’t have a race problem.”

So what does it mean to be a citizen as an African-American, if you’re only considered one on paper and under the law when racism and violence are accepted as the order of the day?

There are cases of both civil acts of hatred and ingnorance on behalf of the government and this war will go on while the authorities of the country don't follow its Constitution themselves.

A new study finds out that although the BLM movement is important to African-American voters, it barely influences their voting behaviors.

The Black Lives Matter has become a national movement campaigning against racism and police violence toward Black people. But the movement has little or no impact when addressing the urgent problems that concern every African-American, such as economic inequality.

A recent study by the Pew Research Center reveals that the BLM movement may not influence the decisions made by African-American voters at polls on November 8.

According to the research, the Black Lives Matter movement affects voting behavior among Black people in different ways. The data shows that most of African-American voters are more likely to vote for a candidate, whose agenda is geared toward creating economic opportunities through creating jobs, than for the one, who favors the Black Lives Matter Movement and new civil rights legislations.

While Black women could choose a candidate in favor of BLM movement, African-American men would prefer a candidate supporting economic growth.

The age of voters also determines who they vote for. The study reveals that Black voters below 24 are likely to vote for the supporters of the BLM movement, where those of 25 and above are more concerned about the economic equality.

It’s clear that the question of how to feed the children does not give rest to all black parents, which is why many of them focus their attention on what is really important on the everyday basis. Unfortunately, the number of Blacks, who die from bad food or the lack of medical help is a thousand times greater than that from a police bullet.

The location where Tamir Rice was shot and killed by a Cleveland cop is now a “Pokéstop” in Pokémon Go.

The new update in Pokémon Go, a popular free-to-play location-based and augmented reality game, now memorializes Tamir Rice, a poor little boy, who was fatally shot by Officer Timothy Loehmann for playing with a toy gun in a park on November 22, 2014.

One can use the Pokéstop to get information and historical facts about locations and the Cudell Gazebo where Rice was shot.

Pokémon Go now describes the shooting scene as a “Community memorial for Tamir Rice, shot and killed by CPD officers who shot him in under 2s after breaking department policy regarding escalation of force”, which contradicts what a Cuyahoga County prosecutor Timothy J. McGinty said in 2015 about the incident and what made Officer Loehmann go scot-free.

McGinty said that Loehmann had every reason to shoot the Black teen because he feared for his life. This excuse has become extremely popular among killer cops ever since.

Pokémon Go developers have made a special mark in the memory of Tamir Rice in the game; there, if you come across the scene, you can read more about the tragic events that occurred there.

The act of the developers is rather surprising and brave especially because it contradicts the position of the official authorities. Moreover, the plan to make the Cudell Gazebo a memorial has not been accepted yet.

For so long the community has been lied to about what really happens around, but we hope that one day the virtual memorial in the Cudell Gazebo will become real. Black people need their memorials too.

August 9, 2016, marks a two-year anniversary of the brutal murder of Michael Brown, an 18-year old teenager, who was shot dead by white police officer Darren Wilson in Ferguson, MO.

Despite the fact, that several witness reports proved that Michael Brown was facing Wilson with his hands up when shots were fired, the grand Jury decided not to indict the killer cop. Every single witness statement that pointed to Wilsons’ guilt was determined to be NOT credible. Grand jury decided to cover Wilson up instead of filling criminal charges against him!

Two years have passed since the shooting of Michael Brown. Nothing has changed. We don’t see a law enforcement reform. We don’t see an increase of transparency. All we see is growing numbers of innocent black people murdered by police.
It’s time to show solidarity and stand united against the guilty system.
Justice MUST be served!

“This case involves the tragic death of one man and the liberty of another. It is complete travesty and miscarriage of justice,” David Schoen, McBean family attorney said.

Circuit Judge Michael Usan has ruled in favor of suspended Deputy Peter Peraza of the Broward Sheriff's Office. The suspended Deputy sought dismissal of the manslauhghter case under the pretext of “Stand Your Ground" self-defense law. This is a law that urges officers on the self defense spree and eliminates retreats when facing dire threats.

This was a case against a Florida Police Deputy who claimed self-defense in the 2014 fatal shooting of a 33-year-old Black man carrying what turned out to be an air rifle. Jermaine McBean, the victim as described by 911 callers was seen carrying a rifle, possibly a shotgun, down a busy street in broad daylight.

As a blatant lie, on the arrival of the police, it was claimed that Jermaine refused commands from the officers to drop the “authentic-looking weapon” and rather turned and pointed it toward the officers that led to Peraza firing three shots at the innocent Black computer engineer killing Stewart instantly.

Now, nearly two year later, it turns out the police told multiple lies in attempt to cover up their killing of McBean. Rather, Jermaine McBean, a computer engineer had only picked up a paid $100 BB camouflage gun at his local pawn shop. And as he walked to his home with his headphones on, listening to music, he was shot and killed by police in Oakland Park, Florida. He never at any point Police ignored the requests of any officers to put down his empty weapon which subsequently led to his death.

Jermaine McBean and the Corey Jones manslaughter cases among others are cases that had judgments in favor of the culprits with the untold primary reason that the victims are Black. This is gross injustice at its peak shown to Black people in the U.S.

The manslaughter charge which carried a potential 30-year prison sentence has been seen to be downplayed basically for the reason that the victim involved is a Black man. But the family attorney of the deceased, David Schoen says the ruling will be appealed.

A portion of her distasteful text reads, “Yes, not every black person is going to shoot me because I look at them wrong, or because I happen to be attending a training so I’m wearing a DCI shirt that day — but I know that there is a stronger chance that they will today than they would have 5 years ago.”

Pollpeter’s grievance seemed to be in connection with the Dallas shooting, which resulted in the death of five police officers. She blamed BLM for the brutality against police. But the founder the BLM publicly came out to denounce the act and clearly stated that the movement was for justice, equality and peace.

Moreover, according to police reports, the Dallas sniper revealed that he wasn’t affiliated with any group.

Reports by The Des Moines Register indicate that the department has fired Pollpeter. The Iowa’s Department of Public Safety further stated that the employee’s action breached the organization’s social media and general conduct policies and that served the basis for her termination. The state department detached itself from Pollpeter’s comment, claiming that it doesn’t in any way represent the entire view of the department.

People like Amy Pollpeter are dogmatic and do not deserve to occupy any position in the justice system . Such people are also not fit for testifying on behalf of the state due to their bias. Moreover, with regard to her reputation as a criminalist people take her words as absolute truth. Thus her posts might contribute into carving a negative image of Black people.

During the negotiations, Dallas sniper claimed he was not a BLM member – it is a well- known fact, so Pollpeter blames him just for having the same color of skin with protesters. She's no better than this shooter, who blamed the entire white race as she blames all blacks.

Maria Frias-Russell recorded a terrifying video after seeing her car and shed vandalized with hate words.

The Black Indiana woman woke up to a disgusting sight in her compound. Someone had painted her SUV and shed with hate words. The terrified Black woman filmed her reaction and posted it on her Facebook page.

In the video, Frias-Russell could be seen fighting to hold back her tears after witnessing the aftermath of the racist vandalism. In a frightened voice, she said, "I woke up this morning to this, I’m scared.” She added, "I don't have any friends out here so I don't know who could've done this."

The touching but worrying video has since been viewed by 6 million people and shared 134,000 times. Some Facebook users have then discerned heavily on the traumatized Black woman and called her “attention seeker”.

Contrarily, Brandi Nicole Dimas told the Daily Dot that she was the one responsible for making the video go viral. She said she shared it on social media. She also added, “They vandalized her house and her vehicle to no repair, and for people to accuse her of doing this herself is unreal.”

The marshal of Campbellsburg, Claude Combs also condemned the act saying, “This kind of stuff is not right, it’s not tolerable and when we find out who did it, they will be charged criminally.”

This story is a perfect reflection of the situation in modern America. Knowing that she cannot entrust her safety into the hands of the police Frias-Russel and any other Black person have all reasons to be frightened. Racism can be found not only in writings on sheds and cars; it has walked inside many homes. All the country bears the disgusting stigma of hatred and intolerance.

We all cry together with this lady, as racism is everywhere and what happened to her may happen to anyone.

Gray’s death was ruled a homicide, though nobody killed him.

The public was thrown into the state of disbelief following the news of the removal of charges against three officers linked to Freddy Gray’s death: Garrett Miller, William Porter, and Sgt. Alicia White, Baltimore Sun reports. This means that even though the death of Gray was ruled a homicide, no one will be held responsible for it and justice will never be served.

During a press conference held in West Baltimore moments after the court ruling, state attorney Marilyn Mosby said, “After much thought and prayer it has become clear that without being able to work with an independent investigatory agency from the very start, without having a say in the election of whether cases proceed in front of a judge or jury, without communal oversight of police in this community, without substantive reforms to the current criminal justice system, we could try this case 100 times and cases just like it and we would still end up with the same result.”

For those, who have been following cases such as this, it doesn’t come as a surprise. The American criminal justice system has always been reluctant to prosecute officers, making up special circumstances surrounding the cases, in which these officers were involved. People are tired of such pretense and police being above the laws they impose on others.

Some time ago protests caused by Gray’s death forced the government to start acting but, now as time passed, everybody seems to have forgotten how this case had made its way to the courtroom. Recent events also show that protests remain the only path justice for Black people can take.

A Texas cop reveals the facts missing from the police report.

Sandra Bland is a 28-year old black woman, who was found hanged in Waller County Jail on July 13, 2015. She was pulled over for a minor traffic violation on July 10 by Officer Brian Encinia, who later arrested her for allegedly assaulting him. After reviewing the dash cam footage of the arrest Officer Encinia was placed on administrative leave for failing to follow proper traffic stop procedures.

Prairie View police Officer Michael Kelley told The Huffington Post that his original report of Bland’s arrest that was submitted into evidence was missing some key facts. He disclosed that at the time of his arrival to the scene Bland, who was in handcuffs, had already been put in the squad car. Kelly further narrated that Encinia, who at that time had his body camera turned off, admitted arresting Sandra without any offense and said that he would make up a charge against Sandra.

“My opinion is that he messed up, he did not have probable cause to detain her after he pulled her out of the car,” Kelley told. He also claimed he had been threatened by Assistant District Attorney Warren Diepraam when he volunteered to testify against Officer Encinia in court.

Alexandria Pyle, an inmate of the cell, adjacent to the one, in which Bland was held, told the media that she seemed distressed. She averred Bland was very emotional and cried a lot.

More and more loopholes tend to be appearing in the story the authorities want us to believe. From the very instant when Sandra Bland was arrested and till she died in jail she obviously endured all kinds of abuse both physical and emotional. Maybe this torture led her to the suicide.

There have been a lot of falsifications in this case. From false statements given by Brian Encinia to falsified jail log data, so the cover-up raises no doubts. Sandra should have never been taken to prison, as her relatives claim.

The body camera worn by Officer Brian at the time proves useless in this case, as it was turned off.

Body-cameras alone will not help to absolve or indict anyone until there are clear and strict rules of wearing them and some serious responsibility for having them off during any incident.

On Tuesday the supporters of Black Lives Matter embarked on a protest march to express their disapproval of Hillary Clinton as the Democrat’s presidential candidate.

Mrs. Clinton’s history-making nomination was greeted with a mass disapproval by the BLM movement just a couple of hours after the nomination took place. This serves as a great concern for the first female presidential candidate of a major political party in America because she has been trying to win the hearts of the Black community to ensure her victory comes in November during the presidential polls.

The demonstration was also joined by a huge number of white activists, who marched through the city towards the convention grounds at Wells Fargo Center. They called on the Democrats National Convention to close the rally right after Mrs. Clinton was nominated as the flag bearer of the party. The demonstrators raised concerns about her credibility as a unifier, especially in a country like America where racial segregation, inequality, and injustice towards the African-Americans are at a record high.

Mrs. Clinton was accused of playing a key role in the passing of some regulations and laws during her tenure as First lady, which led to the imprisonment of quite many young Black people. Although she appears to the masses as the ultimate unifier and a non-racist white, many are of the view that she is just pretending in order to get the nod of the Blacks.

Despite the media’s effort to portray her as an intercessor of all minorities without exceptions, Hillary Clinton is a traitor of Black Americans. We would like to remind our brothers that all candidates have been sold to corporations long ago, and they see Black people more as votes in an election than as humans.

As Malcolm X once said, "We will not organize any black man to be a Democrat or a Republican because both of them have sold us out. Both of them have sold us out; both parties have sold us out; both parties are racist, and the Democratic Party is more racist than the Republican Party ".

The state offers to pay to the family of Jerame Reid for the settlement of its federal lawsuit against killer cops.

On Monday the lawyer for Reid’s widow, Conrad Benedetto said, “Nothing’s finalized.” A final deal has not yet been achieved as the parties involved are still deliberating on matters. According to Benedetto, the widow of Reid should receive an amount of $200,000 in addition to legal fees.

Evidence of Reid’s killing was captured on both a dash camera and a video recording by an eye witness. On this basis, the family of the deceased was able to file a lawsuit against the two cops, Braheme Days and Roger Worley and demand justice.

Reid was shot by two Bridgeton police officers on December 30, 2015, after he stepped out of his vehicle with his hands up when pulled over by the cops. Jerame Reid had been stopped for allegedly running a stop sign. The two officers approached him while he was in his car and requested for his license and just when he was complying, both cops pulled out their guns and pointed at him. They had seen a gun in his glovebox, which was removed by Roger Worley without any resistance from Reid.

The video revealed a tensed situation where the officers yelled at Reid, continuously pointing their guns at him. Fearing for his life, Reid stepped out of his car with his hands in the air, posing no form of threat at all to the police. But the two cops shot Reid several times killing him.

According to the tentative settlement, Reid’s infant son will get a sum of $1.5 million in sporadic payments for damages by the age of 18. Moreover, Reid’s mother and the mother of his child are to be paid $70,000 each.

The police department has denied legal responsibility under the terms of the settlement.

The video was not enough to prove the guilt of the police, who once again were scared of an unarmed man. Moreover, now they are definitely going to question the compensation because the department is not eager to pay the amount of money that can really help the family of the victim.

We demand justice for Jerame Reid and his family. We call upon the attorney not to relent on his effort and demand not only the increase in compensation but also a retrial of the case, which is another example of biased attitude to Black people.

A 17-year old Gabonese school dropout made the world stood still until he dropped the last line of the song composed many years ago by Jennifer Rush and played with great success by the Canadian singer.

In a video that has gone viral on Facebook, Samuel is seen sitting on the stairs of a building in the capital, Libreville- Gabon. His exceptional hits of the high notes in the song clearly bring to live the heydays of the musician in our hearts. Samuel, the young man is indeed a total voice replica of the all-time award winning Celine Dion.

The amazing young singer surprisingly hasn’t taken any singing lessons in his life yet could sing beautifully well. This is what we mean when we make mention that Blacks are naturally gifted.
“I believe the public has a right to know. A real right to know and not just receive managed information,” Veteran officer Nick Novello said.

Often than not, we wonder why the police focuses on only harassing Blacks be it arrest, assaults or any other forms of police brutality. But the 62 year old Veteran officer, Nick Novello, has brought the truth to light after the Dallas shooting incident.

According to the veteran officer, the Dallas Police Department unduly pressures officers to reach targets. These targets are Blacks. In a fearless statement, the Dallas cop broke rank and spoke out against his department’s unlawful practice of wrongfully arresting African-Americans in order to fill arrest quotas.

The veteran cop who has served over 34 years, further lamented that he feels filling quotas only exacerbates predatory policing by encouraging officers to wield power over the very people they were sworn to serve and protect.

Bringing to light all these unknown police tactics to eradicate Blacks, he vehemently spoke against his police chief, David Brown under whom all these have happened including appalling work conditions for the officers.

His statement has brought to light the deep-seated hatred the police has for the Black community which is mainly orchestrated by the directions and the internal systems of the general police departments to make Blacks their targets.

It can easily infer that, it’s either the US government ignores or strongly supports such racial-based programs in the police service. It is therefore the responsibility of the federal authorities to abolish these racially-tagged programs with the police departments so as to gain the trust and loyalty of the communities they serve.

"Segregated Schools Must Stop Now! We Demand Equal Rights Now! Segregation is morally wrong!" Chants of the 1960 Civil Rights Movement March led by Martin Luther King Jr. What has changed since then?

The continuing disparity between Black and white life opportunities is not a result of Black life choices. It greatly stems from an epidemic of extreme racism and an economic system dependent on class and race division.

As a Black community, we take a good look at our fight in the past and now in the quest for liberation, justice and equality in the alleged “Land of the Free”. The subsequent paragraphs grants us meaning into our discussion:

Civil rights movement

A quick look at history informs us that the strategies of the 1960s movement were towards the advancement in civil rights through litigation, organization, mobilization and civil unrest. Soon after, effective electoral strategies started to dominate but were engendered by the 1965 Voting Rights Act. That led to a boost in the numbers of locally elected Black officials which was a real plus to our civil rights progress.

Then after, there was the call for a color-blind America- the goal of the affirmative action. The successes of the affirmative action were that in the late 1960s, the wages of Black women in the textile industry tripled, Black police officers more than doubled, Black electricians tripled and Black bank tellers quadrupled in number. The percentage of Blacks in managerial and technical jobs tremendously doubled. Same was experienced in the field of enrollment of students which increased from 330,000 in the 1960s to more than a million 18 years later.

Today Blacks are allowed to partake in all political activities but the minus is that, job opportunities for the Black race keeps narrowing up due to the created system to ‘save’ the white and oppress the Black. In effect, finances of Blacks and the Black community in general keep getting drier.

Racial segregation

In the so-called “Land of the free” there is “hyper-segregation" of facilities, services, and opportunities such as housing, medical care, education, employment, and transportation along the lines of racism and white supremacy. This is general discrimination against people of color by white communities.

Segregation then and now.#sjwlogic #feministlogic #srstriggered #sjw #feminist #wft #gamergate pic.twitter.com/RH7EoCwbWi
— RogueStar13 (@thekristoffer13) November 22, 2015

There is the scenario of physical separation and the availability of so-called "separate but equal" facilities, which were actually separate but hardly equal. Racial discrimination is seen at play. For instance in the past Blacks weren’t allowed to bath is same bathrooms with their white counterparts

Legal segregation was another field of racial discrimination but was abolished in 1954 as a result of many civil rights demonstrations. Though abolished, De facto segregation — segregation "in fact", without sanction of law — persists in different degrees and forms to the present day.

Contemporary racial segregation is seen in the United States in residential neighborhoods and in mortgage discrimination and financial redlining among other factors. An instance of the neighborhood segregation was when Black ghettos were created during the first half of the 20th century in order to isolate the Blacks from the whites.

Police brutality

Little was heard of police brutalities meted out on Blacks in the past as compared to these days. Maybe it was because of a number of yet-to-know factors out of which media participation is key. But of today, it seems the modern day brutalities can equally be compared to “lynching” which was the scenario during the colonial era.

Many human rights observers and activists keep showing the “red flag” to increased police brutality in recent times. Reports have it that, he U.S. after the attacks of September 11, 2001 has been living in the “War on Terror”. The "War on Terror" has created a climate of impunity for law enforcement officers, and contributed to the erosion of what few accountability mechanisms exist for civilian control over law enforcement agencies. As a result, police brutality and abuse persist unabated and undeterred across the country.

Slavery

In-depth Insight supplied by the African American experience brings modern slavery ever more vividly to life than ever. Moreover, and at least as important, comparisons drawn from the African American experience make manifest the deepest truth about slavery that Americans need to know no matter its location, dynamics, or history. Inescapable in every instance, past and present, is slavery’s detestable brutality and the categorical imperative to assist those ensnared in it. Its legacies, whatever its form and however abolished, extend most painfully into the present.

To illustrate this vital truth we turn next to the history of enslavement in the United States after the ending of the Civil War and to a prescient comment by the brilliant abolitionist Wendell Phillips in response to the ratification of the Thirteenth Amendment in 1865: “We have abolished the slave: “The master remains.” The masters remain is an indication and confirmation of the present day Black oppression and inequality.

Denied effective legal representation, tens of thousands of African Americans convicted of any sort of crime found themselves shackled, transported long distances (sometimes in iron cages), and coerced at gunpoint to work long and excessively hard for not just the state, but for large private businesses. Prison officials extended sentences as it suited them. Resistance meant beatings, deprivation of food and water, extended isolation, and the risk of being murdered. Such repeats itself in present day America.

Education

The idea of Black education arose in 1833, from Boston abolitionists David Lee Child and Lydia Maria Francis Child. Although the idea was shocking, Prudence Crandall announced that she wanted to open a school to educate Black girls in Connecticut. Prudence was greatly persecuted for even perceiving that idea. In the 1880's, segregation in the schools started surfacing in every U.S. state. Worse of it all, the Supreme Court upheld racial segregation in the case of Plessy vs. Ferguson, by stating that "separate but equal is constitutional”.

Today, racism has influenced education to a large extent. Well, research reveals that Black students are only 66 percent less likely to be admitted to special programs for talented students, even if they have equally high academic performance as Whites. For generations systemic racism has subjected students of color to all forms of discrimination – from lower university intakes and scholarship opportunities to fewer graduations from universities and colleges.

Worse of it all is that, it is reported that out of over 100 percent of students expelled from Dothan City schools, 87 percent of them were black, even though only 55 percent of the schools’ population is Black.

Such inhuman racial instances has created a void in the system, in which more disadvantaged enthusiastic and hard working children of color break the shackles of not being white in America. And even when they do, they hardly gain grants to aid them make their education much easier.

Healthcare

The issue of segregation is highly recognized in the health field as far as the issue of “Black patient – white doctor” is concerned. Black Americans in the era of slavery were never given proper health care. They were made to live in dirt, no good water and no good food and were beaten and chained at the least offence. Many of those Black individual died.

Healthcare issues that affect African Americans disproportionately from Latagia Copeland-Tyronce
Today, in the wake of the expansion of biomedical technology, advancement in medicine and increase in physicians in the United States, it is on record that the infant mortality rate in the Black population is twice that of whites. Black men are seven times more likely than white men to receive a diagnosis of HIV and more than twice as likely to die of prostate cancer. Black women have nearly double the obesity rate of white women and are 40 percent more likely to die from breast cancer. Black people experience much higher rate of hypertension, diabetes and stroke.
As of today, Blacks are given less quality health care in the U.S. ‘The flint water crisis’ where the government has turned deaf ears to a community of Black populace in need of good drinking water shows how Black lives health wise is in jeopardy.

Auto insurance

Every citizen including Blacks is allowed to own property in the U.S. One of these properties includes owning vehicles for personal use. In the past, Blacks were nowhere having properties of their own but as of today; Blacks are given the green light to do so. Despite the liberty to own cars, it is seen as a deliberate act of the government to suppress Blacks by demanding high Auto-insurance fees from Blacks than whites. Worse of it all, Police pullover Black drivers, harass them and in some instances kill them for no offence committed.
